I actually remember the Alamo.  HOwever, the myth of the legend about the Alamo was shattered when I actually read the true history of it.  I am not taking anything away from the Texans killed there, but he embellishments that grew up with them holding off Santa Ana for 11 days (poppycock!) kind of made them mere mortals again.

No one, or at least not I, have forgotten Pearl Harbor.  Trudy wrote a prayer for it, and Texas provided some excellent recounting of a first hand witness to it on her article.  September 11 was a horrific event, and it will always be remembered, but remembering 9-11 does not mean forgetting 12-7.

December 7th. Pearl Harbor. Nothing.
December 8th. John Lennon's death. Loads.

I think had I not had the opportunity to visit the memorial, I might not have been so keen on remembering. Having watched video footage of the attack and listened to men who where there that day and looked down at the wreckage and scanned the long, long list of names of men entombed in the USS Arizona, it's something I think about often. Not just on the 7th of December.
