2) Incentives should target the national guard to recruit more for the express purpose of border patrol.
Elaborate 2:
This is a no-brainer. We cannot continue to police the world at the expense of our own borders. The new recruitment initiative for the national guard should be laced with an agreement that by signing up it will be only for tour of duty for the protection of US borders and these recruits will not be used for any other purpose. The effect of more boots on the borders, particularly on the southern tier will not only insure tighter defense but dramatically reduce illegal immigration.
3) Appropriations should be increased for the navy and coastguard to intensify sentinel of ports of entry.
Elaborate 3:
It has been the policy of the navy to put too much emphasis on their fleets round the world and not enough on protecting our own waters. The coastguard is overworked in matters of drug control and forcing boaters to observe the rules of the seas; it should be reinforced to serve directly in terrorist threats by more closely surveying foreign ships near an in ports. The navy should be concerned with on board inspection of suspected ships nearing our waters.
4) More funds for children’s daycare centers and selected welfare mothers trained to supervise in them.
Elaborate 4:
Too much talk and not enough action concerning “welfare mothers” particularly single mothers. Forcing them into the job-market to reduce assistance requires massive free day care programs. Why not train these mothers to be the major force in supervising their own children and kind? The stigma of these mothers is unwarranted unless they are culpable in abusing or neglecting their offspring; most, however, are as loving and protective as any mother with the luxury of staying home or having the means to pay for professional day care.
