And other things

Those who condemn materialism should at least acknowledge that it helped bring along sanitary plumbing. … It’s a cheap shot to fault Bush for continuing to read the goat story; give him credit for being into it since he seldom reads anything. … Hello? … What rich kid doesn’t get preferential treatment? … If the French are so bad why don’t we ship back the Statue of Liberty? … Democracy is in its infancy in Russia, so we should take a wait and see position on Putin’s clamping down, after all, in our own history the Articles of Confederation didn’t work either until more central power was advanced by the new Constitution. … In my youth I liked hanging out at the local bar with my peers to discuss politics and sports over a beer or two — the thought never occurred to us that we should invite Truman or Eisenhower. … I wonder how many illegal immigrants denied a driver’s license in California have credit cards? … Isn’t it just a wonderful life we’re having? — to be at war without sacrifice and home front effort, together with blocking out the terror of our troops on the line? … I’m still waiting for Sharon’s get tough policy against terrorism to work. … Do you think that Jay Leno, of all people, would dare criticize Kerry’s looks? … I wonder if Hillary gave strict orders at the hospital to assign male nurses to care for her husband? …

Boy, your youth must have been some time ago. lol

Yes, "get tough" plays well with a certain crowd, but it rarely seems to work in just about any situation of differences between people. Doesn't stop the dum-dums from thinking it'll actually work, though.

Another fine menagerie of thoughts, steven ..

Yes, I suppose, I'm the oldest of Ju bloggers. Sharon to the dum-dums is like Bush "staying the course."

Thanks, Wise--the feeling is mutual.

Thanks, Texaii, do you love me too?
