Constructive gadfly

The person familiar with the talks told The Associated Press that Imus is taking steps to make a comeback with WABC-AM. The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the news had not been announced, also said the deal with CBS calls for a "non-disparaging" agreement that forbids him from speaking negatively about his former employer.

The settlement and possible comeback come more than four months after Imus created an uproar over his racist and sexist comments about the Rutgers women's basketball team.

Wooly hair might continue his crusade on nappy hair. Yet chances are good that he will be repentant and much more careful with his rubber mouth and therefore be about as ineffectual as Limbaugh on drug addicts. What's your take?

That you should be immediately fired for calling him "wooly haired."

My Take?

Much ado about nothing.  The only thing the whole episode did was get Sharpton some unneeded press time.  I have never liked imus, and think that whatever he says is designed to be inflamatory.  His only failure in this instance was directing it against what amounts to a bunch of all american college girls (Sweet Pollyanna types).

If the comment would have been directed at say - Whoopi Goldberg or Condi Rice - there would have been a lot of fireworks - and some fun theater, but he sould still have his job and I still would be ignoring him.

Thank the Lord for choice[pun intended].
