Constructive gadfly

Much of my early childhood was engrossed in comic book heroes and I was fascinated by the artists’ talents to the point that I, too, used to sketch a likeness of each of their heroes. I would marvel at their physiques and wished someday that my skin and bones would take on the same. The thought never occurred to me that because they were all in tight fitting garbs that they were homosexual. To my surprise, much later in life I learned that some psychiatrists actually postulated that these heroes promoted homosexuality!

Currently there’s a book out titled “Hero” that is about a superhero who’s gay and falls for another male superhero. My, my, was I ever dumb in my early youth—so safely ensconsed in innocence.

Hulkling/Wiccan in Young Avengers.

Northstar in Alpha Flight and various X-Men books.

Batwoman in 52 and Countdown (and possibly her own mini-series in the near future).

Everything the psychologists used to say was the same sort of psychoanalysis they're always doing. "OMG, Batman made Robin wear such short pants! And he's completely non-commital to a relationship with a woman! And he calls him chum! GAAAAAAY!" If they were really sharp, they would've talked more about the bondage themes of Wonder Woman comics.

You're sharp, soldier. Wouldn't it be wonderful if psychiatrists got a life?

Its often the case that innocence in youth turns into bigotry in adults because no one bothered to point out the realities of life.

this is just another attempt by the gay community to make everyone think that they are normal.

Ah, today's world sucks. The original Batman had no such falmboyance.
