Constructive gadfly

It’s ludicrous for the Los Angles Times to call for the early retirement of the duly elected Vice President. In fact, even if such a move — surely, inconceivable since Cheney is no Agnew — were contemplated by the President its legality would be questionable.

As a liberal I am disturbed by the trend to kick an administration when it’s down. The American people, rightly or wrongly, elected this administration to carry on its policies of the first four years — that is, in the main, the security of the nation. That the electorate is now apparently displeased is of no consequence: the stage has been set. Talking heads, MSM, retired generals notwithstanding, the country must learn to live with the political reality. And if they are truly dissatisfied, the ‘06 and ‘08 elections will turn it around.

holdinng a band of neocons who plotted a war behind the backs of the American people, imposed graet suffering on the Iraqi people and even now is creating trouble in Iran.
This time, I trust, the congress will be more enlightened and analytical, let alone the people.

Thanks, Doc, but i don't wish to "scare" conservatives.

Reveling is good.

Impeachment is a political process and it is what Congress says that counts. The Constitution says High Crimes and Misdemeanors (that is what Congress defines) are causes for removal of the President or Vice President.

Congress approved the war predicated on the information Bush gave them. If all the intelligence and military assessment of the danger Saddam posed to this country in 2002 would have been available, there would not have been a war resolution passed by Congress.

You know something? You're a "broken" record! The dems have "tried" (yes tried and FAILED) to bring impeachment proceedings against Bush numerous times now. And they were shot down each and every time.

The members of Congress DID NOT have all the information Bush had. A FEW members may have had most of the information but because it was classified and could not discuss even when they were considering the War Resolution.

The information as to IF Saddam and Iraq was a REAL danger consisted of BOTH Intel about WMD as well as the military assessment of the capabilities of Iraq in late 2002. The most recent revelations from the former European CIA Chief like the same information from Mr. Piller prove that Bush ignored ANY Intelligence that did not support what he had decided to do - Invade Iraq. Both these CIA Agents were like long members of the CIA and BOTH were head of sections within the CIA where they saw ALL THE INTELLIGENCE.

Then you have the information from the retired generals like Zinni and Trainor. Even if you do not agree wit their call for Rumsfeld to resign, the information they have provided about the military assessment of the danger posed by Iraq as well as the WMD issue show that much of the available information was ignored by Bush because he had decided to remover Saddam and the intelligence about WMD nor the Military capability of Iraq to be a threat was not important to Bush. We went to war against a country that had NO MILITARY CAPABILITY, which was proven be the swift defeat of their military. We also went to war against a country that had no WMD as Bush and Cheney said absolutely they had in spades!

LOL, this guy talks as if he was there and saw what Congress saw. The hell with you Col. This is just plain rediculous that you even claim such a thing as if you were a witness and are 100% sure of it.

Good bye for today and good luck in life.
