Constructive gadfly

What with all the hoopla about blackberries, iphones, Google--symbols of the knowledge explosion--how is it the same old corrupt crap still goes on? It's because we are still a nation of idolatry. Those in high places who do wrong are usually forgiven, or rationalization sets in so that our idols are refurbished and, ugh, worshiped.

I hope Obama has had enough of the Rubin Trap of Summers and particularly Geithner to dump them.

Probably because they still do not understand the impact that technology has.  Obama is the most technology savvy president in history, but he is still trapped by the "way it was" syndrome.  He cannot see the forrest for the trees.  Maybe the next president will be more tech savvy, but I doubt it.  It will take someone immersed in it from birth (some one born in the last 20 years) to truly grasp the change that has occurred (for the most part, just in the last 10 years).

Stubby, excellent video.  Thanks for the link.

I have to disagree Doc, but for slightly different reasons. There are plenty of tech savvy (even geeks) that are older and can even appreciate the technology better that someone born with an I-Phone in their hand. It's all taken for granted now. Second, politicians feed off personal interaction, technology is just a means to an end, a tool than they can use, no need to know how it works just that it does. On the other hand, technology guys, while not necessarily loners, spend a lot of time by themselves figuring how things work and how it could be improved or tweaked. Obama might know how to use elements, but I doubt he ever cracked a PC case open.

No disagreement there.  But those people will probably not go into politics, and the ones that are into politics, are not those people.

Do you think Tiger Woods would have won even more tournaments had he not been sexting on his rounds?

If the superstitions are true, yes!

How did his amazing golf focus, a gift from his Asian mother, turn into a sex fetish?

He just likes to share his putter. Tigers problem was failing to realize he shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.
